Rare Book Conditions
Descriptions & Condition of Books
In summarizing condition, we generally use the following four grades: Fine, Near Fine, VG+, and Very Good. An item graded only Very Good is a sound and complete book, but is at the lower limit of collectible quality. The occasional item graded only Good has something going for it other than condition (e.g., rarity or bargain price.)
If a dust jacket (DJ) is present, that fact and the condition of the jacket will be noted. In some cases when a dust jacket was lost or damaged, we provide a facsimile dust jacket—a color photocopy of an original—and it is noted as such. We do not normally note or discuss plain paper shipping wrappers. Former owner names, dates, bookplates and the like are not usually mentioned unless they are disfiguring.
Please contact us for a print catalog of Western Americana or Ernest Hemingway rare and out-of-print books.
Shipment & Returns
We normally ship by U.S. Postal Service—media rate. For shipment by special means, or to destinations outside the U.S., we will estimate actual cost and charge that.
Books may be returned for any reason within 7 days of receipt, but please contact us and let us know if a book is returning.
